PROCEDURE

CAMPUS PLACEMENT PROCEDURE (For Final / Summer Placements)

Organisations interested in recruiting Managers for Final / Summer Placement need to follow the below mentioned procedure:
Step 1: Confirm Participation
Company needs to contact the Placement Cell of the Institute (details given in the ‘Contact Us’ section) in the months of July-November for recruitment for the subsequent year. After a discussion / agreement on the profile / package which the Company would be offering, the participation will be confirmed by the Cell.
Step 2: Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs)
To enable the Company to attract the best of talent, a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) is organised. This is an opportunity for the Company to interact with the students, share with them details of the Company and the Job Profile and understand their expectations. These talks would be organised between the months of September – November.
Step 3: Call for Curriculum Vitae (CV)
On the completion of the PPT, the Company provides to us a Job Description with details of the deliverable / location / salary. This description is shared with the batch and applications are invited for the Company. The applications are sent to the Company for scrutiny / short listing. These applications are in a standardised format which facilitates comparison.
Step 4: Conduct of Selection Process
Campus Interviews start from the third week of December. Scheduling of a Company is done on the basis of the date of confirmation, position offered and remuneration. Companies need to inform beforehand about their Selection Process so that adequate arrangements can be made.
Step 5: Issue of Appointment Letters
On completion of the process, the Company would issue Appointment Letters to the selected candidates as a confirmation of the selection. The Letters need to be given to the Placement Cell only and the Company cannot under any circumstances directly confirm the appointment of a candidate. Acceptance of the offer will be confirmed within 7 days of the receipt of the Appointment Letter. The Company cannot force a candidate to take a spot decision regarding confirmation.
Step 6: Joining of Candidates
The Candidates will report on the joining date and complete all the required formalities before starting their assignment. Companies may please note that the joining date has to be a date after the completion of the program

PRE- PLACEMENT OFFER (PPO)
Pre-placement offers can only be made by the Company to those candidates who have done a summer internship with them. The PPO must be made before the end of November. To facilitate the process, a PPO Form will be sent to all the companies who have participated in the Summer Internship.

CAMPUS PLACEMENT RULES
The following rules will be applicable to students when they participate in the Campus Placement Process of the Institute:

A student may apply to any number of companies. However, from the companies that have confirmed participation, the student must maintain an application rate of 50% failing which he/she would not be allowed to participate in campus placements.

A student who has applied to a company cannot, on his/her own accord, withdraw from the selection process of the company unless he/she has already got an offer. A student who fails to participate in the selection process of an applied company would not be allowed to participate in campus placements.
A student must apply to a company within the stipulated period. Late applications will not be entertained by the Placement Cell.
Application must be made in the standardised format prescribed by the Institute. Any deviation from the format will result in an automatic cancellation of the application. The student at no point in time can be directly in touch with a Company.
